It is our desire to participate in all things with a genuine honest attitude. We want to be people pursuing justice, working hard to engage in the broken places of this world. We hope to express our passion and vision by doing each thing set before us with dependability and excellence. We want to be known as people of integrity.
Last month, we shared with you that one of our dear mentees passed away, leaving a brand new husband and little daughter behind. The Allies community flooded this family with love by raising enough funds to fully cover the cost of the funeral home, and contribute toward a headstone. Not only did our community financially provide, but it was incredible to see how the years of consistent love, support and faithful friendship was displayed throughout the funeral service and beyond.
Makayla’s mentor and mentor coach had the privilege of sharing stories and words of encouragement with those who attended the funeral service. Members of the Allies community filled two rows, hugging, crying, and sharing sweet memories of their friend. Some of you provided food for us, which we were able to share with Makayla’s husband. We were able to give him a new car seat and sit with him as he navigates his new reality.
None of this would have been possible if Allies hadn’t been part of Makayla’s life. Because Allies walked in integrity, dependability and steadfast love with her, her life was changed for the better. The support of the Allies community made that possible. Thank you for allowing us to truly say “I’ll be there for you” and with all integrity be there when it matters most.
