September 26 marked the anniversary of the passing of our dear mentee, Dawnyai. Many of you may remember when we shared about her last fall, as a large number of you made donations to help cover funeral costs.  In the year since, we have remained committed to supporting her husband, Justin, and their beautiful 2-year-old daughter.

Our staff and volunteers have been actively checking in on them, delivering meals, providing Christmas gifts, and joining the family on Dawnyai’s birthday to select a headstone and celebrate her at the gravesite. We’ve also taken her daughter to the Children’s Museum and the park, sending love and prayers to Justin along the way.

This ongoing support reflects the strong and compassionate community we have at Allies. Together, we’re ensuring that Dawnyai’s legacy lives on through our kindness and care for her family.
