“Adulting” is not always fun, but when you have someone to do it with, it’s bearable.

Earlier this month, Amanda and a mentee she has walked with for the last few years worked together to accomplish adult tasks. They collected W-2s, reviewed a W-4, and set up an account with the IRS. These tasks aren’t always simple and oftentimes take persistence and patience. For Amanda and P, setting up the account took several attempts, but she persevered and got the job done.

Amanda shares that she is so proud of this young lady and notes that she has a great job that she loves. and even was promoted which has given her a huge raise, more hours and the opportunity to do some work from home! She showed Amanda the portfolio of work she has done, which was organized, well thought out, and comprehensive. “It has been such a joy walking alongside her these past few years. As she emerges into adulthood, I am honored with the privilege of being one of her people,” says Amanda, and I think P would agree. Here’s what she had to say about this interaction:
