After agreeing to participate in the ALLIES Job Training Program (JTP), Violet began to feel as though she had taken on too much. As a participant of JTP, you agree to participate in all 15 weekly 3-hour classes right after school. After a conversation with Joann and Audrey, her mind was put to ease and she began to look forward to this new experience.

The 15-weeks provided a safe place to share. Violet, along with others, were able to learn how to be a good employee. Violet and others were able to provide coping skills during some of the activities. Jessica did as much as she could to provide engagement during each class. She also made it a point to celebrate small victories.

Violet appreciated the dinner and snacks provided each week, the transportation made available each way (no matter how far the drive would be) and the accommodations which were made to adjust to the participating girls’ schedules.

On the final evening of class, mock interviews took place. Violet appreciated the fact that each interviewer adjusted their interviews to the girl’s individual resumes and situations.

Upon graduation, Violet beamed at the fact that every single person in the room (mentors, interviewers, volunteers and staff) truly wants to see her and others succeed.

Violet rocked JRT, earning 100% on every exam. She earned six different badges throughout the program, and she has another positive experience to add to her resume.
